Not safely, no. You would be decreasing both your tread width and your sidewall height. The decrease in both width and height would give you a smaller contact patch and a lesser load carrying capability, neither of which would be desirable.
The over all tire size(diameter) would be too small. Will it fit? Yes, but it will throw your gauges off by ALOT. Almost 10 mph off at highway speeds. Not recommended unless you need a quick set of emergency tires(like you're on a road trip or something).
Your alternative sizes are 235/70/15, 215/75/15, or 225/70/15. They won't have the same over all tire size compared to the original, but they will be very close where the gauges won't read all messed up.
- Can 225/70R16 tires fit on rims that have 225/70r14 tires on them? I have 225/70r14 tires on my Ford ranger. I just got some 225/70r16 tires of the same brand, Cooper, given to me. Will they fit on the 225/70r14 rims or do I need to get rims to fit the 225/70r16.
- I have a 1975 Ford LTD, four door, with about 17,300 original miles with all the paper work for sale? This was my dad's and is going to be for sale. I'm curious what I should ask as the selling price on it. I don't know where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is that green color that was popular back then with no damage and is very clean.
- Can I use a p195/60r15 tire size than the p185/60r15 on my car (ford fiesta 2013 sedan)? The type of all season tires I'm interested in on the Goodyear site isn't avail. For the p185/60r15, only on the p195/60r15. When I entered my car info on the search bar it said that more than one tire size can fit my car but I wanted to be sure. What's the difference between the sizes and will it affect my car?
- Can I replace and instrument panel on a 2008 Ford Escape? I removed my instrument panel to determine what was causing my gauges and dashlights to turn off while driving. After removal it appesars the plug on the back is loose to the board. I don't know how to fix this, but was wondering if I could replace with a different panel myself or does a dealer need to program it?
