I have a 1975 Ford LTD, four door, with about 17,300 original miles with all the paper work for sale?

This was my dad's and is going to be for sale. I'm curious what I should ask as the selling price on it. I don't know where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is that green color that was popular back then with no damage and is very clean.

If the miles can be verified and if the car is still in very good, unmodified, factory condition it's probably a $6000-$8,000 car to the right collector at the right auction/sale.

The problem with this car, it isn't a rare or unique car that most collectors would be interested in. It's just an old car. Granted, it's a nice old car but it's not like it's a rare big block muscle car. Cars from the mid 70s just aren't very collectible. I would expect to get $2500 - $5000 for it on the open market.

Have the car checked over by a mechanic. Make sure that it is in sellable condition. If it needs a few minor repairs you'll need to take care of them before you can even list the car for sale. The car has probably been sitting for quite some time and car's deteriorate rapidly when they are not in daily use. It may look good but mechanically there could be several issues that need to be addressed. Unless you are willing to let the car go cheap you will have to get the car in good running condition before you can list it for sale.

Sounds more like 117,300 miles doubt if it said 17,300 miles? At 117,300 miles depending on condition worth around $2,800.00 wholesale dealer around $800.00. Sure not a collectors car!

Are you SURE on the miles?

Has it been garage kept?

Spend $10 and take it to a public car auction. Don't sell it there, just see what it brings.

Its probably worth at least double what it brings.

Honestly, depending on condition, it could be worth anywhere from $700 to $7000.

Condition means everything.

What engine. Where is it. 429 460 cars bring the best money.

Will need proof that it actually has that mileage. If not won't get what you want for it you'll need a paper trail since this car has a five digit odometer that could of gone over 217 thousand miles and no one would know. Not like todays cars that have a six digit odometer

Hehehe it don't work that way, we have ways of knowing if the 5 digit (6 if you count 1/10)odometer has been over once or twice!

1975 and only 17300 miles? Did he not drive it? Nearly 40 years of driving, I think the odometer was rolled over, for a 1975 your dad took great care of it. Wax it and keep it, take it to car shows.

Probably 5000?

  • What original Ford CD players will work and fit perfectly for a 2000 grand Marquis? I want to know if I can take a CD player from an older, pre 2003 Ford, and put it in my grand marquis. I know it had to be sloped to fit in perfectly and there are different connectors. I tried looking at a junkyard, but none had CD players.
