2008 Ford Escape radio display?

So I have a 2008 Ford Escape XLT it has the standard radio system in it. But I noticed when the sun shined on the display screen you could see the two temperature display on. Both Conor of the screen but these do NOT light up at all. Is there a reason why or is something wrong?

Try it at night? It may have lights but they only come on when the car lights are on. If they still do not light up I would suspect a blown bulb (s)

They used the same display for several trim levels. If you had the Limited trim with the dual zone climate control, those displays would light up as they are part of the dual zone climate control system.

  • 2008 Ford Focus radio and clock not working? I went into the car yesterday and started it up. The "FORD FOCUS" came on the clock as usual, but after that nothing appeared. Then i attempted to use the radio and it wouldnt work. If i pressed random buttons(pushing in the ok button a bunch of times) it would sometimes pop up like 12:00. I checked fuse box and the fuses were good. What could be causing this?

The radio side harness I have has the constant power (yellow), Ground (Black), Accessory power (red) and illumination (orange) From the vehicle harness, I only see the corresponding constant power and the ground. Where do I get the accessory and illumination from?
