I have a new radio for a 2008 ford Escape Limited?
I have a new radio for a 2008 ford Escape Limited. I'm installing a new radio. The radio side harness I have has the constant power (yellow), Ground (Black), Accessory power (red) and illumination (orange) From the vehicle harness, I only see the corresponding constant power and the ground.
Where do I get the accessory and illumination from?
Auto manufacturers wire colors never match radio manufacturers. Go to crutchfield.com and put in your vehicle. Their tool will tell you what radios are compatible and what wiring harness adapter kit you will need. If you buy a harness from them it will come with detailed instructions on how to wire it to your radio. Then it will simply plug into the vehicles existing harness.
Phil is right, the best thing is to get an adapter harness that will allow you to install any aftermarket system. But if you are really wanting to hard wire it yourself, here's the color codes
- I have a 2008 Ford Taurus Limited. The air cond. Compressor is taking forever to engage? The problem gets worse the higher the outside temp. And when the car is idling. Freon level is normal, and the compressor is not short cycling. Any ideas? Forgot to add that the condenser fan is running non-stop at idle when compressor is not cycling.
- Have 98 Ford Ranger, 4.0, 171,000 miles, auto trans with limited slip. I've owned truck since new and have changed trans fluid every 30-35 000 miles and have never towed anything. The majority of the 171,000 miles are interstate driving. The truck shifts fine with no jerking or slippage. What I do get is thump(s) in rear end when I come to a stop, as gears are downshifting. Do I need a new transmission? Any suggestions? I suppose it's a "clunk" I hear and feel when I come to a stop, not a thump.
