What metal exterior were Chevrolet suburbans made from 1992-2006 made out of?
Ok. I own a 2002 Chevrolet Suburban that my mom used to have and over it's 13 years it has gone through a lot.
It got hit by a Ford F-250 Super Duty Truck on it's side and it didn't even get a large dent at all.
The time I have had it, on accident, I ran into the worlds toughest poll. It was small, but made out of cemented concrete. It destroyed my bumper and damaged my grill pretty badly. When I got the bumper replaced and my grill repaired, I noticed that those were the only parts of the car that got damaged. I also on the side, felt the rest of my car's exterior seemed to be made of pretty heavy metal.
Now I know that no car out there, even ones made back in the late 1940s could withstand being hit by a concrete poll head on without it's bumper and grill being either destroyed of heavily damaged. Especially the bumper.
Given that my car has been through quite a lot during it's time, the truck hitting it included, I wonder if Chevrolet Suburbans made from the early 90s all the way to 2006 were made out of steel.
My question is, what exterior metal were Chevrolet Suburbans from 1992-2006 made out of? Were they made out of steel?
Steel.
Cold rolled steel.
- WHAT WRONG? No lecture$. LHF brakes metal to metal week+ Today pedal goes to floor No brake power until almost bottom out Fluid not low? 05 AWD Ford Freestyle. Besides grinding all around brakes were fine. Now noise is close to negligible. Replacing Front pads/rotors tomorrow. A must to bleed now? Air in system? Caliper?
- I have a 2000 Ford Taurus Sedan that has a screeching metal on metal sound when switching gears to reverse? And the sound is there the entire time you are backing up. Does this sound like a transmission issue? Also hearing a rubbing noise in the steering, and it is a little tight, any idea what that could be? Also heater blows, but not real strong and no heat comes out… Does that sound like a difficult and expensive fix? And could the heater or any of the above issues cause my engine light to light up solid continuously? The car runs pretty good aside from these issues.
- Can I replace my metal brake lines with copper or aluminum brake lines? I have a 2001 ford focus ZTS and a rear metal brake line cracked and i've tried flaring new metal brake lines but my cheap flaring kit doesn't seem to handle metal lines and was wondering if copper or aluminum would be easier to flare? Can I use copper or aluminum lines on my car? What're the pros and cons?
- 2014 Ford Fiesta - exterior lights not turning off? Only noticed today when I caught the reflection off the car in front but I had my lights in the off position (nob in upright position) yet my headlights were still on? I don't have automatic headlights nor do I have the LED Daytime Running Lights (as it's only the zetec model), so I'm a little confused? Any thoughts? Or is it a fault and I need to go back to the garage?
