WHAT WRONG? No lecture$. LHF brakes metal to metal week+ Today pedal goes to floor No brake power until almost bottom out Fluid not low?
05 AWD Ford Freestyle. Besides grinding all around brakes were fine. Now noise is close to negligible. Replacing Front pads/rotors tomorrow. A must to bleed now? Air in system? Caliper?
The calipers have reached their maximum travel and thats why you don't have any pedal left. Its very likely that the rotors will have to be replaced also. Theirs no need in bleeding the calipers if they haven't been opened up and let air in. They will be hard to get collapsed far enough to get the new pads over the new rotor, use vise grip "c" clamps and it will make it a thousand times easier. Don't rush it when collapsing the calipers with the "c" clamps, just work with it and it will go.It takes a lot of pressure to do this. If you have added brake fluid in the past, you may need to take the top off the brake fluid reservoir and drain some of it out to keep it from overflowing when collapsing the calipers… HOPE THIS HELPS.
Possibly a leaking wheel cylinder. So something that has to be fixed as well
Could have just happened(kind of like a balloon popping… One minute a balloon, next second nothing.
They will see it because it is so obvious. So it may be a back that blew. So surprise, surprise it has to be done.
Sounds to me as if you shouldn't even try to play mechanic!
- I have a 2000 Ford Taurus Sedan that has a screeching metal on metal sound when switching gears to reverse? And the sound is there the entire time you are backing up. Does this sound like a transmission issue? Also hearing a rubbing noise in the steering, and it is a little tight, any idea what that could be? Also heater blows, but not real strong and no heat comes out… Does that sound like a difficult and expensive fix? And could the heater or any of the above issues cause my engine light to light up solid continuously? The car runs pretty good aside from these issues.
- 2001 Ford Taurus, 156k miles. Today started missing and skipping, low to no power? Idles smooth, takes off slow. Sluggish going up hill, but will go faster down hill. Push down on the gas- little change. Ck engine light is on of course. Any idea what it could be?
- When I start my truck my RPM's are very low (almost stalling) until I tap the gas? I'll start the truck and the RPMs will sometimes automatically go to below 1 then start dying out. I have to tap the gas quick and the RPM's will jump to around 3 then it will start the idle process. The truck runs fine otherwise I'm just concerned it might cause future problems. Is my throttle just getting stuck or something? 2003 Ford Ranger 2.3 4 Cyl Standard 160,000 Miles
- Entire car loses power when we floor the gas. Gauges reset until we let off gas. (still drives) 02 ford mustang. The car loses power to everything. (Except what's needed for the vehichle to stay running.) Can still drive it. What are possible problems? (AC does not affect anything )
