What kind of used truck can I get for snow plowing?

I'm interested in buying a truck intended for plowing snow on residential driveways in the Western NY area. I intend to do 60 driveways for the winter for the initial year. My budget is limited to $20,000. I was looking at some Ford F-250s, but my friend told me all I needed was a Ford F-150 or a Silverado if I went with Chevy. Any suggestions?

An F150 Dodge 1500 or Silverado 1500 will due the job. But if your going work it that hard a 3/4 ton or 1 ton will handle it better. When you put a plow on the front you add a lot of weight to front of truck.

The 3/4 ton or 1 ton has heavier steering and brakes and will take it better. Also most have heavier transmissions in them also. Do as you like but I wouldn't use a 1/2 ton Also with a 3/4 or 1 ton you can add a sand spreader to the bed if you like.

Snow plowing is heavy service for trucks I use the f250 or even a 350 better bigger that too small do you tow trailers? Used a chevy half ton too light and 4 transmissions later I learned spinning tires then hitting pavement while towing/plowing good by trans!
