Dunno anything other than those superduty trannys can be problematic. Hows the trans cooler, i believe you have 1 in front of the radiator as well, is it clean? Also make sure the trans vent on the case isn't plugged. Been working in a salvage yard a year, seen a lot of em come back under warranty.
let me get this right, you say your burning transmission oil? If so its leaking on something hot, cause there isn't a way for it to get inside the engine.
Are you talking engine oil or transmission fluid? As far as the fuses you might have a wiring problem find local shop at ATRA.COM for more help
- My '06 Ford Taurus is having what i'm assuming transmission problems, any ideas? The other day while attempting to back up a small slope, my engine revved up and a message came on the info area of my dash saying to check the transmission. I turned off the car, turned it on and the check engine light was on. I go home and check the trans fluid and it's full. The next day I start my car and the check engine light is off, but now my car shakes on heavy acceleration and gear changes. I'm not a car person. Any ideas?
- Shifting problems and intake problems? I drive a 1997 ford ranger with a 2.3l automatic. I have recently experienced a hard shifting in my truck even when I'm not on the gas it has problems shifting. And I cleaned my air filter and filter hose that goes to my throttle body and there was transmission fluid in the hose. What can be causing this and how can I fix it or how much will it cost roughly?
- Can leaking radiator hoses cause problems in the transmission? What else? I've got a 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, had the radiator replaced last July, needed to take to a closer garage because I was afraid of way transmission was acting. They left a message saying all radiator hoses were original and basically leaking evweywhere. And there's a bunch of other problems. Something with the thermostat. They're trying to figure out if tranny is totalled. Waiting for a call back. Just wondering what problems can ensue with bad radiator hoses.
- 1992 Ford Explorer Transmission Problems? My 1992 Ford Explorer (automatic) is having an issue, when you first start to press on the accelerator it revs up real high, and then it kicks and the gears catch and start moving, it'll start off moving a little bit, but really slowly, has anyone else had this problem before? Any advice? It's not slipping.
