What is 'very high'?

Unless you take a mechanics oil pressure gauge and check the actual oil pressure you will have no clue what your oil pressure is. The sending unit on your motor for the oil pressure gauge is not accurate.

Bad dashboard gauge. Check with an oil pressure gauge.

Bad sending unit or dash gauge

Either the gage is lying to you and the pressure is fine, or the pressure really is high, in which case it would be the pressure bypass in the oil pump has stuck. Hook up a second mechanical gage first to see if you actually have an oil pressure problem or a gage problem.

Somebody already asked, but my first question is: What is "very high"? High on an unmarked dash gauge? Or can you state some pressure reading in pounds per square inch, or other system of pressure units?

Oil and filter are only small parts of that. You have a potential shorted pressure sensor or wiring to that, a failed resistor in that circuit, or a failed pressure regulator. Time to do some checking.
