I own a 1989 Ford f:250 7.5 460 gas truck and wondering why it won't do a burn out. It should have more than enough power in it right?

A burnout? No idea what that is. This truck is almost 30 years old.
Yes… Add a turbo in it
SO you've got a 30 year old truck with umpteen miles on an engine that was never noted for being fast and you want to burn the tires. Besides an engine that's probably very tired the transmission is probably wasting half the power the engine puts out due to slippage from age wear. Get a life.
Nope. First off the truck weighs over 4 tons. Secondly, although it has the huge 460 V8 it only produces 225 H.P. Which is about what most V6 engines produce today. Not near enough to do a burnout with this much weight to move.
It's a big old heavy lump. You might get a burnout on a wet road.
Maybe it's the loose nut behind the wheel.
Engine power maybe… Trany tired
Might be able to power brake it but that's hardly impressive since you can do that with literally anything.
Might be because it's a ford, I used to have a1975 chevy automatic with a 350 engine, that truck could do a burnout on demand every time, best pickup I ever had
Hhh
- Why do fords small sized engines make more power than chevy s? I have a 67 impala with a 283. And I was looking at a spec sheet for different motors from ford of that same year and saw that fords 289 makes 271 horsepower while my 283 only makes 190 where this extra power coming from?
- Is a 4x4 truck more fun than a two wheel drive truck? Always love to go off road and I love to go mud bug to thing is my Ford Ranger that was totaled the other day can't go through mud because the two wheel drive. Is four wheel drive more reliable and easier to go off road and is 4x4 more fun than two wheel drive?
- I was getting gas in my 94 ford ranger EXTCAB and gas was pouring out under truck? How do I see if its the fuel neck? I used a tiny auto camera to stick all the way down the gas neck and didn't see any holes
- Can my starter burn out if ignition switch is bad? I have a 1990 ford ranger 2.9L Whenever i turn my truck on it starts up but while its on it makes a noise like it's cranking to start. But when I turn it off it still does it and the belts are still rotating also it's does it with out the key in the ignition After that it stops but my starter is burnt out and my positive cable to my battery is Al so burnt
