How much money to make my truck 4x4?
I have a 1973, Ford Ranger xlt. It's a f-350 crew cab.
I have a 1978 regular cab that is 4x4.
If I wanted to make the crew cab 4x4, mostly using the 1978, how much (estimate) should it cost me?

The frames are different, so if the two aren't EXACTLY the same length, can't.

On the older trucks, this is actually a doable proposition. You'll need a front axle (probably a Dana 60), the transfer case, driveshafts, and some moderate fabrication to relocate the steering box and a place to mount the transfer case, and cut a hole in the floor for the transfer case lever. If the 1978 is an F-100/150 then the Dana 44 it has probably won't be a good choice. The frame length difference won't be a huge problem, you'll just have to find the correct driveshafts.
