How much money should i put away each paycheck for a used car?

I'm 16 years old and I currently work at shop rite; I had a 1998 Ford Taurus for 7 months but i only paid $900 for it so i can learn how to drive but now it will not start at all! Now I desperately need a new car because I'm about to start college but i don't want to put that pressure on my parents because they need to pay for my college and nursing books! I work part time at shoprite and I get $100-150 every friday & I only saved up $200! Please give me advice!

If i was you i would save $125 a week and find a second job.

My advice for you is to start saving your income instead of spending it and fix the Taurus. You are in no position to be considering going in debt with such a low income job.

Learn how to save, don't learn how to go in debt.

  • Why does my car speedometer go whackadoodle catywompis a couple of times each year? Every so often my speedometer goes wacky as if it were loose from it's bearings. It will just go flipping all over the place as if being pulled by a magnet. This only happens once or twice a year. I always drive the speed limit so it has nothing to do with driving. It's a 1995 Ford Taurus SW.
  • If I put lots of money in my car, does it increase its value? I bought my 2005 ford taurus for 2,800 USD. I have put brand new tires for $325, catalytic converter ($739 including labor), repainting and removing scratches ($1,700), shocks and struts ($752) new carpet ($359). New headlight assembly ($95). Does this raise the value of my car? Can I sell it for more than the kbb value?
  • How much money should I get for the diminished value on my car? So I just bought a 2014 ford mustang v6 premium. Had a 16 year old fender bender me 3 days after I bought it. It has 400 miles on it. The estimated damage on the car is $1,600. I'm wondering what kind of money the insurance company should give me for the diminished value on the car. The damage was to the rear bumper and taillight.
  • Is it collusion for companies in different industries to agree not to compete with each other? For instance, if completely different companies like Coca-Cola, Microsoft and Ford agreed never to compete with one another by not entering into each others markets (Coke agrees never to make computers, Microsoft agrees never to make cars, etc.), is that a form of collusion? Furthermore, would such an agreement be a violation of antitrust laws?
