2004 Ford F-250 super duty diesel lack of power and sputtering?

It has rough idol and lack of power. Can you please tell me what is wrong

Replace the fuel filter and drain the water in the filter housing. Clean/replace the EGR valve. Could also be bad fuel. See a diesel specialist if it does not go away. Injection pump, suction control valves and injectors can have issues.

The early 6.0L Powerstroke diesel motors usually had problems with failing EGR coolers and head bolts. Other things too such as the problematic aluminum high pressure oil pump and the VGT turbocharger when it got really dirty. Many times the PCM had to be re-flashed in those trucks because stock programming could sometimes lead to catastrophic engine damage in those years.

  • 2006 Ford Ranger, lack of power and rough idling, what could be the problem? I have a 2006 Ford Ranger manual 4 x 4 sport, with 160,000 km (100,000 miles) that I bought back in August. It ran well until today. On my way to work, I drove a few blocks when I noticed when I accelerated there was little power, and it was idling rough. I drove it back home and noticed there was this black soot coming out of the exhaust. I can't have it seen until the 2nd, so I'm just looking for any insight on what the problem can be.
  • Will newer model (03-07) Ford Super Duty headlights fit on a 2000 Super Duty? I was wanting to put Oracle headlights on my truck, but it's for the 03-07 6.0L Super Duty's. It's the only kind I can find that close enough to my trucks lights. But I was wondering if the headlights will fit right into my 2000 F-250 Super Duty.
  • Ford Super Duty diesel engine? Which is the best engine for diesel engine for a ford truck. People are telling me the best one is the 7.3 because it has the less problem but someone else to me is the 6.0. Please give me an idea on which is the best selection because I'm ready to purchase a used truck in a couple of months. I know these a 6.0, 6.2, 6.7 and a 7.3. I know they stop make the 7.3 in 2003, I can still find them.
  • Anyone with a new 2017/2018 Ford Super Duty find the interior to be very cheaply put together and low end materials? Seems like a really el cheapo interior considering the price of what a Lariat and above trim level costs.
