1995 ford f250 with 5.8l transmission?
Added (1). A friend of mine has a 95 Ford F250 with the 5.8l gas V8 engine. I'm wondering what type of transmission is in it because he needs a new tail housing for it and we're not sure what transmission it is. The ID tag is worn and not readable. Any help would be much appreciated.
The standard four speed overdrive automatic. But, the tail shaft is different depending on weather it's a 4x4 or a 4x2.
It should be an E4OD. Which is sort of like a C6 with overdrive built in. Ford did two versions, the light duty version was used behind the 300/302/351W and the HD version was used behind the 460 and Powerstroke. The pans are also different between the 2WD and 4WD trucks. IIRC the 4WD pan held an extra quart of fluid.
- Will a Ford Explorer transmission exchange for a ranger transmission? I have a 2002 Ford Explorer 4x4 with a 4.0 engine. The truck needs a new transmission and I was wondering if a transmission from a 2002 ranger 4x4 with a 4.0 will bolt up to the explorers.
- My 1995 ford ranger broke its transmission? We thought it was a transfer case but it ended up breaking a price inside the transmission. I don't know what it is called but it goes from the front all the way into the transfer case. And it also snapped the bracket that goes between the transmission and transfer case.
- Can you get a 2015 ford mustang and Chevy camaro in automatic transmission instead of manual transmission? Hi, I'm thinking about buying a 2015 ford mustang or Chevy camaro. Both of the cars come in manual transmission! Is it possible to get it in automatic transmission instead? Can I just ask the dealer (dealership) to give me the car with automatic transmission or do I have to change it myself?
- Transmission slipping 1st and 2nd gears with overdrive light on. 1995 ford explorer? When I come to a complete stop I give it gas and as soon as the gear engages I let off gas right away and slowly gas it then. If you were to just floor it in these first 2 gears it will slip. It drives fine and shifts fine in higher gears. Any ideas? 125,000 miles on this car.
