Transmission slipping 1st and 2nd gears with overdrive light on. 1995 ford explorer?
When I come to a complete stop I give it gas and as soon as the gear engages I let off gas right away and slowly gas it then. If you were to just floor it in these first 2 gears it will slip. It drives fine and shifts fine in higher gears. Any ideas? 125,000 miles on this car.
Unfortunately back then Ford sucked at making transmissions (I've had 2 old Fords both had tranny problems) there's no easy way to fix it your just going to have to replace it or the car
Any automatic transmission that slips is toast! The clutch packs get fried really fast and by the time you drive it home when slipping it's time for a rebuilt tranny.
- 2001 ford ranger transmission slipping? Had a old bottle mecron put it in and it drained out the bottom, leaky hose easy fix. The guy at the part store said it takes mecron 5 should I drain out all the fluid 10.5 quarts or can I get by with 1 quart of the old mecron

- Why my cars gear stick popping out from 1st to 3rd gear, from 2nd to 4th? The car is Ford Focus 2002 1.8tdci. Poppong out from 1st gear to 3rd and from 2nd to 4th. Reverse works fine, I'm able to start to drive car from 3rd gear with balancing clutch and acceleration. No strange noises thou.
- Does anyone have a Ford Focus or a car with overdrive button? Need advice on the overdrive? Button! I'm confused. When I start my car, the overdrive [off] button goes off. Do I have to push the button on the gear shifter to turn it on? Or am I already in overdrive? I've read the manual and am still confused. I know that when I see overdrive off that it is off, but there's nothing to say it is on. Help! My question is even confusing, I know! Sorry!
