1989 Ford F250 300 inline 6 4.9L, anything I should know?

Manual 5 speed transmission. 8 bolt wheels.

Great Engine. Will last a long long time.

Old engine, but good balance. Add seafoam to the crankcase and drive it 200 miles then change the oil and filter. Give it some of that new synthetic natural gas pennzoil oil. It should last u awhile

They are good engines but don't expect a lot of power out of it compared to a 5.0 or 5.8 liter V8 engines.

  • Know anything about model Ts? I'm editing my book placed in 1910, so the only motor vehicles they have would be model T fords and I was wondering how long it would take for someone to drive from northern Kansas down to the center of Texas.
  • How to increase reliability on a Ford 300 inline 6? I know people say the Ford Inline 6 is pretty much bullet proof. I have one with 212k Miles and looking to rebuild it when I get some cash. Would Forged internals increase Reliability or just power. Now, if someone can give me a answer that'll make it more reliable and more power, well that's even better.
  • Thinking about buying this car, but don't know anything about vehicles I was looking at this Ford Focus SES 2009 with about 123,000 miles. Priced around 7,999. Kbb says it's worth about 6,500 so there's some wiggle room in price. The Carfax shows that its battery has been replaced 2-3 times, and it's been sold at dealer auctions a few times as well. I was just wondering if the dealer auction is a bad thing? Or if that's an unreasonable amount of times the battery has gone bad? Thanks for your help in advance! Clueless about vehicles!
  • I bought an old ford for 300 bucks and wanted to fix it up it is a 1976 ford f150 long bed regular cab? It is 2wd only it needs a total engine rebuild and it needs to be machined by a shop it has no rust on the body it just needs a engine rebuild would it be worth it to fix it up and sell it for a profit
