Duel mars flywheel or clutch release bearing?
I have a ford mondeo 2.2 tdci ST.
When i'm sat in nuetral or going into 1st gear it sounds like grinding when i apply or release the clutch. Espesially at biting point. Once i get the car moving you can hardly notice it in higher gears. You can also feel the vibration in the foot when doing this.
I currently have ordere a full clutch kit and for it to be replaced.
I'm hoping its not also the duel mars flywheel as this is an extra large cost.
Could andybody please give me some ideas on weather for sure this is only the clutch kit that needs replacing and not the dmf.
Replace the flywheel or you will be paying to do it all over again. You should have looked for a single mass kit.
Here's why:
Ok, I did the leg work for you, this is the kit to buy
Sorry, but the only way to know for sure is to inspect the flywheel after the transmission has been removed. Other than that, just relax. As I told you previously, the grinding problem is most likely just the release bearing.
- My '83 Ford Ranger clutch won't release? It started by getting hard to shift into third gear when driving. Soon after, it wouldn't release whatsoever. Got new cylinders. Bled the system for three days. Got another set of new cylinders and bench bled it. Didn't help. The pedal feels mushy. Took the tranny out. No spring loose from the Clutch as some mentioned might be the problem. Everything appears to be as it should be. Any ideas?
