Does the US have any really high end luxury cars?
I don't mean things like Corvettes and Ford GTs, like things that really stand out and would be on par with the likes of new Lambos, and McLarens, and Maybachs and Bentlys and Buggatis, and Maseratis and Ferraris. I know like none of those companies exist on their own but is there any thing like those that are American made?
Have you priced the new Ford GT? We're talking $400k here.
No.
Like you say, the GTs, Vettes, and Vipers get you into 911 territory and for Luxury you're looking at Cadillac, Lincoln, and Chrysler which is really just BMW, Benz… And VW levels of luxury… Barely.
And if someone types Hellcat Charger I will gouge my eyes out.
2016 Cadillac XTS, 2016 Lincoln MKZ
No, the US doesn't have any really high end luxury brands like Bentley or Rolls Royce or anything that would rival an S-Class Benz.
The highest levels of luxury and speed to come out of the US come from Cadillac, Lincoln and the Ford GT, Chevrolet Corvette and Dodge Viper.
to some extent the Cadillac ATS-V and CTS-V aim to compete with German Luxury Sports Sedans like the BMW M3, Audi S4 and Mercedes C63 but they lack the history to be considered proper competition.
The US has Hennessey for their ultra low production garage made sports car (with the Venom GT) but it again lacks the refinement of similar european companies like Koenigsegg or Pagani.
other than that there's no American match for companies like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Aston Martin, Mclaren, Koenigsegg, Pagani and to some extent Porsche.
Hi america does not go in for real luxury cars the Lincoln or cadilac where the only real top end car makers.
Are there maybe any really high end Tesla's?
- Do some people really care that much about driving a really nice car? My dad is perfectly okay with his 1992 Ford Taurus with 210,000 miles on it, no heat (he lives in Chicago btw), no A/C, and a f::::ked up passenger side door. He's not poor by any means, he's a CFO of a bank. He just says that driving that P. Builds character and he only cares about having a car that can take him from point A to point B.
- 2000 ford taurus, is really hard to start, when it does start it idles really rough? 2000 ford taurus, is really hard to start, when it does start it idles really rough until completely warm, we replaced 4 coils and at first it helped but has returned just as bad.
- How to go about replacing front end suspension parts when everything os really rusty? The springs everything is really rusty. 93 Ford Ranger. 124k miles. I wouldnt otherwise. Can i replace things like control arms and ball joints before doing the springs? What about tie rods and cvs? Any idea from a seasoned mechanic would help. I know you don't have the vehicle to look at but how Would you go about replacing really rusty front end suspension parts?
- Will high performance spark plugs have any benefit in a non performance car? To start I have a 2002 Ford Focus ZTS with 150000 miles on it. It needs new spark-plugs, and the only two types the store has that fit my car are Autolite Platinum and Bosch Platinum IR Fusion. My question is for my car, is there any advantage to spending the extra 14$ to get the higher end spark plugs or would it just be a waste of cash?
