Do I have adjustable rocker arms or non adjustable rocker arms?
1995 Ford 351W 5.8L need to know so I can torque them properly and I can't find anything online. Also, can I just torque them all down? Or do I have to rotate the engine over and torque each cylinder separately? Any info would be great.
Probably have hydraulic lifters and non-adjustable rockers.
Ok
Hi so the rockers need to have nuts and a screw driver slot so that you can adjust them.
You obviously do not know what you are doing.
Leave it to a mechanic before you cause serious engine damage.
Get a service manual. We're all guessing.
Get a Haynes manual. They're only about twenty bucks and have the info you need.
This is what service manuals are for. Haynes is my choice. I have one for each vehicle
I'm sure of one thing, you have no idea what you are doing. Torque them down? And yes, the engine crank must be rotated to adjust valves.
Engine uses automatically adjusted hydraulic style valve lifters that require no tappet adjustments, rocker arm bolts are 20 Ft-lbs.
You can remove the nut that gets torqued down and replace it with a 5/16 poly-lock and now its adjustable
- What tools do I need to change my brake pads? Explain in plain English to a non-mechanic. Send pictures even? Alright before I get into this, let me explain that I'm a 17 year old girl that has no one to do my brake pads, and I'm unable to transport my car to a shop. Recently bought a car that needs a brake pad change and decided it'd be a good learning experience to just do them myself. I've seen them done and also decided that if I **** something up that's my own problem. I have a 2005 Ford Taurus. My e-mail is nyarseniccatnip@gmail.com (Haha. Ironic.)
- Since Connecticut ruled that they could sue Remington arms over a mass shooting done with a rifle the built, does that mean? That I can sue ford because the guy that rear ended me at the stop light was driving one? He was texting while driving is why he hit me, can I also sue his cell phone maker, and plan provider?
- Self Adjusting vs Non Self Adjusting Clutch? What kind of a clutch does a 1998 Ford ranger XLT 2wd 2.5 4 cylinder use from the factory? I have checked several forums and the answers are conflicting. Does anyone by chance know whether this type of truck needs a self adjusting or non self adjusting clutch?
- Will high performance spark plugs have any benefit in a non performance car? To start I have a 2002 Ford Focus ZTS with 150000 miles on it. It needs new spark-plugs, and the only two types the store has that fit my car are Autolite Platinum and Bosch Platinum IR Fusion. My question is for my car, is there any advantage to spending the extra 14$ to get the higher end spark plugs or would it just be a waste of cash?
