Of course, Toyota 4Runner and Jeep Grand Cherokee are both comfortable and capable SUVs, which have lots of different extra options to offer to their owners. Thus, IMO, the main difference between them is their design. While both are great choices, this time my vote goes to better looking spacious Jeep. 
The 4runner is a Toyota, no? And it is a piece of ****.

PS- The non-Jeep is a Toyota model, not Ford.
