I want to buy a Jeep Grand Cherokee, is it a good deal?

My parents presented me with a Jeep Patriot in the year 2011, now that I have a job I'm interested in purchasing a Jeep Grand Cherokee. My father owns a Ford Explorer, and my mother owns Hyundai Tucson.

Depends on what you end up paying for it. In general JGC are high dollar vehicles so for "transportation, they are not the "best deal" around.

New or used? Which of the many optional engines are you considering? What is the price? What are the estimated payments? How much is the estimated insurance? Does this vehicle closely match your true needs and budget, or is it extravagant?

When you can ask an intelligent question, come back and ask it.

We just bought my 3rd Grand Cherokee - 2002 4.0L straight six. We love them and have none of the habitual problems people here seem to want to mention all the time.

If you can pay for it, buy anything you want.

You don't mention the price, but the Cherokee (incl. Grand) and Wrangler are the only Jeeps I would consider.
