Chevy or Ford crate engines?

Its just so hard to decide who makes the better crate engine.

I like chevy's, fords spark plug blow outs scare me away from there engines and I will get hate from fords lovers saying it isn't on every ford but hey one spark plug blow out is one to many for me. But fords are great cars the engines just don't fancy me most racers use a chevy engine

Are you kidding? You should know the LS series of engines are the best crate engines… LTs are pretty good too. LS engines make the best power for the money and weigh less. That's why they are so popular. I've seen LSs in Fords and Dodges.

Hi so which is the most reliable engine.

  • Why do fords small sized engines make more power than chevy s? I have a 67 impala with a 283. And I was looking at a spec sheet for different motors from ford of that same year and saw that fords 289 makes 271 horsepower while my 283 only makes 190 where this extra power coming from?
  • Where can I find crate engines for sale? I'm not looking for craigslist or ebay engines. I'm looking for a reasonably priced ford 347 stroker engine without the JEGGS or SUMMIT RACING price tag. Any websites or stores I can go to to find a complete 347 for under $4,000? And no I do not want to stroke a 302 myself, I want a 347 fresh out a wooden crate.
  • Ford ka stuttering 2004 only when engines warm why? Stuttering at low revs when engines warm when press down on the accelerator, so does it the worst when stopped at the lights an pulling off and when at low revs in any gear. I was thinking on changing the spark plugs and leads but I only changed the plugs 6months ago could it still be the plugs? Where would you start with the problem? I've also heard that the fuel pump failure is a common fault on ford kas could it be a early sign of that going?
  • Is Ford switching all their vehicles into ecoboost engines? Why is Ford heavily advertising their Ecoboost engines a lot? I know is suppose to boost up fuel economy and horsepower but they taking out V8 engines. Other Auto companies they refine their V8s and make them fuel efficient or at least increase mpg. Ford is like ditching V8 and put V6 twin turbo to solve their problem quickly to me. Anyone agree?
