Can I use Ford C-Max for practical driving test?

I purchased a 2007 Ford C-Max this past week. I'm a very experienced driver, still in my learning stages. Failed the test twice in my instructor's car over silly things such as not applying the handbrake. I'm very confident in my driving, and want to use my own car, simply because I'm 6'6 and my instructor's car is VERY uncomfortable for me to use. It's relatively small.

My car is currently insured under my dad, I have the L plates, and the extra mirror. My only question is whether it is reasonable to do the test in a relatively big car.

Look at the vehicle requirements the local licensing authority has for vehicles used in road tests. If it meets the requirements, you are good to go. Whether you can handle the vehicle is another matter.

  • Listed as driving an ATV on my speeding ticket when I was driving a Truck? I live in Minnesota and received a speeding ticket yesterday. When I looked it over it said the vehicle was an ATV. I was driving a Ford Truck. Is this how they list all trucks on tickets or did the officer make a mistake. The citation was correct just not the type of vehicle.
  • Can I use the reverse camera on the road test? I'm 16 and I'm going to be taking my road test soon. My friend recently got his license and I asked him if you could use the reverse camera and he said you could. His parents have a 2012 Ford Explorer. Am I allowed to use this? Also, which car should I take on the road test, a 2012 Ford Fusion or a 2014 Ford Explorer? I'm in NYS.
