Can I use the reverse camera on the road test?

I'm 16 and I'm going to be taking my road test soon. My friend recently got his license and I asked him if you could use the reverse camera and he said you could. His parents have a 2012 Ford Explorer. Am I allowed to use this? Also, which car should I take on the road test, a 2012 Ford Fusion or a 2014 Ford Explorer? I'm in NYS.

The fusion, if you can pass a test in something as big as a exsplorer fair play to you

I wouldn't of thought they would let you use a camera to help you in all fairness for everyone else's sake on the road you should be able todo it without

You would need to contact the NY dept of motor vehicles to see if using the rear view camera is allowed

Ask the DMV. I would disconnect it because you need to know how to back and parallel park a car without a camera. Most cars do not have a back up camera or back up assist. I would learn to drive on the Explorer and test in the Fusion. Depending on that camera if foolish. Every time you drive it is a driving test. What happens if you get a license and drive a car without one of those cameras and can't back up or hit something?
