If you live in a state that allows you to keep your plates and transfer them to other cars, yes you can once you transfer it.

If not, no you can't. If you are concerned about binging it home in some states you can get a moving permit, in some you can drive it home as long as you have the signed title, so it would depend on the law in your unnamed location.

No when the run the tag it comes up as a the car you have it on so cops will pull you over and you will get into trouble it's like having no tag at all

Ahh no, the plate is for the vehicle, not for the person that owns it.

Sure you can, go ahead.

But it's not legal unless you let the licensing office know about it first.

In Ohio you can transfer the tag. I'm not sure if you have to go to the BMV before putting it on, or if you say bought the car on a Sunday, can you put the plate on and driver home and if pulled over not be ticketed.
Sure if you show a bill of sale for today, maybe the cop lets you go, but maybe they can write a ticket?

Can't use the plates from another vehicle, maybe you can obtain a permit, depending the state or country your in, if the police stop u, you need to prove the both cars and plates are yours and not stolen

If you no longer own the Nissan, and you have first, transferred the plate at the DMV, you may be able to do it. You may not legally do it under any other circumstances.

That varies by state. In some states the plate belongs to the person and in others it belongs to the car. Call your local DMV.

In those states that do allow transferring the plates, what you can do and the time frames varies as well. IE: Transporting the new vehicle home varies by state. Some allow up to 48 hours before you have to change registration and others require registration before mounting the plates on the new vehicle.

Vanity plates are a different animal all together with their own specific rules.
