Why Won't my Truck Start?

I have a 1991 Ford Bronco 302 5.0 L with an automatic transmission. And it will not start. I just replaced the starter and the ignition lock cylinder. When I turn the key, the caution lights and everything turns on so my battery works and I hear my fuel pump engaging. I tried pulling the codes but nothing. Can anyone tell me why it won't start?

Check and clean all your battery cable ends. Check your neutral safety switch.

After several attempts, it started immediately (without the usual starter crank-up sound), ran loud & rough like a lawnmower. I turned it off, now it won't start. Starter is strong, battery full, airfilter good, fresh fuel is reaching the carb. Weather is hot and slightly humid. Anyone have a guess?
