Engine issues with 1995 Ford Bronco?

Every so often, I ll ease onto the gas from being stopped at a red light, I ll get up to about 25mph then it ll stop accelerating. Putting the petal to the floor gives it some gas after 3-5 seconds. Another issue is that sometimes, once or twice a day the engine will die while I'm driving. I can usually feel the steering lock up before I lose power so I have time to get to a safe place to restart it but it's really annoying having to always look for a safe spot to potentially pull off to. I recently changed the fuel filter & it didn't affect any of the problems. Any help is appreciated

You don't mention which engine (5.0 / 5.8) but it is indeed likely a fuel delivery issue. Next step would be the fuel pump and the system that powers it as well as possibly debris in the fuel tank.

Don't overlook a pickup issue in the tank either… Even the fuse to the fuel pump can be an issue (loose / corroded connection).

Change all the fuel hoses to and from the pump - they can have pinholes in them allowing some air in, and dropping the fuel pressure, which leaves the injectors just dribbling in fuel instead of spraying it like a jetwash! It will cost only about $20 including new clips, and you will know that if it HASN'T fixed the problem, you have eliminated the most likely cause.

  • Will a 1993 3.0 Ford Ranger engine fit and work with my 1995 Ford ranger that has a bad motor? My 1995 ford ranger 3.0 5 speed ran hot and cracked the heads and spun a bearing. Will a 3.0 out of a 1993 Ford Ranger fit and work? My concerns are the 1993 has a distributor and my 1995 does not. Are the water pumps and accessories the same?

  • 1995 mustang RPM issues? I own a 1995 v6 ford mustang. When I'm driving some of the times it's a bit normal, but lately at slow speeds or when stopped my RPMs will rise and drop. When stopped it rises and Lowers pretty obviously especially as I slow down to a complete stop, you can hear it as well. When driving at slow speeds any where up to about 45 or 50 it also does this but not as noticabally and normally when I give it gas. If I give it more gas it definitely runs a little smoother but still does it.
  • I have a 1995 ford Thunderbird lx that has a V8 engine. The engine overheats fast and I can't drive it far. What might be the problem? I can only go up the road a couple of miles before I have to turn the car off and check antifreeze. Because, The antifreeze drains when I drive far, now I use water instead of antifreeze.
