Broken piston in cylinder head?
While changing my head gasket i found a broken cylinder in my cylinder head… Is it fixable? Or should i just replace the engine?
It is a 2005 Ford E250 4.6L V8

Wow a broken cylinder sleeve or is it a piston IN a cylinder head. What next? Now you know why Ford discontinued this engine!
It was due to low oil smarty pants, ford makes great engines that last long only if you maintain it the way they tell you to.
THE PISTON CAN BE PULLED AND REPLACED BUT YOU HAVE TO CHECK THAT CYLINDER FOR OTHER DAMAGE LIKE SCORING OR OUT OF ROUND.
- Which cylinder is cylinder #5? I posted this the other day but in a hurry with not much detail so here it is again I drive a 2004 Ford taurus with a v6 24v DOHC Duartec engine and my computer is reading a bad ignition coil on (coil e #5) replacing it won't. Be difficult I'm just not sure how to determine which cylinder is which
- Replaced cylinder heads and head gaskets, but car is still overheating? 97 Ford Taurus, replaced the cylinder head and head gaskets. Car started fine and we let it run for a while before taking it out for a test drive. After about ten minutes the car started to overheat again, coolant came out and steam came from under hood. We also replaced the thermostat. What other possibilities are there?

- Looking for your opinion So I'm a mechanic i replace my head gasket on my 1996 ford ranger 2.3 gasket the head bolts the hole 9 yards I torqued the head 51 to 90 ft pounds and the sequence was 51 to 60 to 80 90 so I don't know if i should re torque head bolts or leave it? I'm afraid if i torque them again one will break what do you think paul?
