Brake light stays on all the time/2002 Ford Explore?

Simple, just replace the "brake light switch", located on the brake pedal (or behind).

Unless you have bulbs in wrong or crossed filament inside a bulb, shorted wire etc. The brake pedal is not returning fully. Does it go out when you pull up? There could be a shakebrace bend from a panic stop or a firewall crack. Also a booster linkage concern.
If i couldn't solve it quick, i would ask at my dealer service drive. There could even be a bulletin on an issue that you have to seek through asking them.
Correct assembly at the pedal has always been specific on fords.
