$245 for Fuel Pump for Ford e.150?
Just double checking a receipt from mechanic. He charged $245 for a Fuel Pump for a Ford e.150 van. I'm not a mechanic, and am having trouble pricing the part via Google. Also, mechanic did not specify the manufacturer. I suspect there can be a large difference based on the part manufacturer.
Added (1). Year: 2000, Eng.: V6
Added (2). Clarification, $245 is just for the part. Labor was additional.
The fuel pump is part of a assembly which includes the fuel sending unit and a screen in a housing and yes it can cost that much.
Rock Auto has pumps listed for your vehicle for far less but… If they installed a Motorcraft pump that price is about right. Motorcraft would be the OEM replacement. Other pumps can run from a little less than $100 to $175.
- Where is the fuel pump on a 1975 ford/mercury capri 2.3? I had to work on my car late and I had a hard time finding it I just bought the manual for the car but it hast to come in the mail just want some help when I get back to it this morning.
- Location of 1998 Ford Taurus fuel pump. Does it have a fuel cut-off switch? Car shut down suddenyl without warning. New battery and cranks but will not start. Suspect bad fuel filter, 130K miles and fuel filter has never been replaced.
- My 1999 ford ranger has 20 lbs of pressure on the fuel line. Do i need a fuel pump? After I tested the pressure and shut the motor off the pressure went down to 0 quick. When I just turn the key I don't get any pressure
- On my 2000 ford mustang why does my air pump (smog pump) only blow air for 5 seconds after start up? Is that normal? I have p0411 secondary air injection system insufficient flow detected. I've checked the hose that comes out from the pump, it's blowing air but I believe it should blow air for much longer than 5 seconds on start up.
