2007 Ford Mondeo Ghia 1.8 TDCI vibration problem?

I just recently bought a 2007 Ford Mondeo 1.8 TDCI 6 Speed Manual and it has picked up a very annoying vibration the car has done 158000 miles (used to be a private taxi) the symptoms i'm having are intermittent difficulty putting the car into 1st gear, intermittent lumpy idle and the whole car shakes when holding the engine at around 1500rpm but then smooths out at around 2000rpm it also shakes when i'm travelling at any speed apart from when i apply the brakes and it seems to stop vibrating, the engine also makes a hollow rattle when pulling away in 1st, also when i shut the engine off the whole car shudders, i originally thought it could be either the engine mounts or the dual mass flywheel but the flywheel was only replaced within the last 10000 miles or so. Just thought i would get other peoples opinions first before carrying out any maintenance, Hope someone can shed some light on this very annoying problem.

If vibration goes which clutch depressed? It an still be a faulty dual mass flywheel etc. Do check engine mounts first. The lumpy idle is possible an injector(S) fault. Or sensor issues. Has for example air filter been replaced? Have we had a scan run for fault codes? This would be a decent line to take as any major issues here will be flagged up. Also a standard Mot test would flag up any safety issues. E.g. Broken failed mounts.

  • I have a ford mondeo that had broken down. I called AA and they ran it through their computer and it said fuel sensor problem. I went to a? Garage and they replaced the fuel sensor. I drove up the street and the car broke down again. Plugged it in at the garage and it said fuel sensor fault. The garage then took that fuel sensor out and put it back in the car it was from and it was working. What could be the problem?
  • Ford focus TDCI 2007 won't start? I had a blowing injector on my focus and decided to replace the part. I followed my Haynes manual and managed to complete the job with ease. Issue is that I didn't disconnect the battery like it said. Now the issue is that the car won't start as I think the engine management is saying there's a fault on the fuel system. I don't know what to do now I've tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting so it re-starts the engine management system but it didn't work!
  • Ford focus 2007 Tdci radio code needed? My radio has been locked after I have given someone a jump start, tried several codes found online, can anyone help? Serial no is v052196, any assistance would be great!
  • Is there a second/back up way to open bonnet on Ford Fiesta Ghia? The lever in front left foot well area to pop the bonnet isn't working The point at which it usually clicks and opens the bonnet isn't happening; the lever is going beyond that point without popping the hood. It worked fine earlier and I keep trying but it isn't working now. Its like it isn't lined up properly anymore. I need to top up my oil but can't get it open and am going on a long journey tomorrow. Any suggestions or another way to pop the hood?
