2003 cavalier 2.2 eco tec?
I have multiple problems with my car that I Bought from Mathews Ford it has only been a year but here is the one problem I have that puzzles me. I have had a problem where I get an oil change and I seem to be going through oil very quick. I found no leaks no smoke or smell but I thought it was very strange it would only take 1 - 3 months depending on how it felt to eat the oil but it runs perfectly fine no sputtering no hiccups only 65, xxx anyways today I felt like taking my cold air intake off and found all my oil in my cold air intake system can anyone tell me why this is I have no check engine light on no oil light on its all stock but it is going upstream to my cold air intake filter I do know there's sludge in the motor but I don't know how much.
Now look what you did Mr. R. You insulted another person just asking for help. You know what they say, if you don't have something nice…
Whatever that means. It is normal to find oily residue in the intake system after 65,000 miles. It is not normal for a car to eat oil or anything else for that matter. What is meant by 1 to 3 months is somewhat obscure as the world does not know if this encompasses 10 miles or 30,000. Mileage is the normal way of measuring oil consumption rates and even then it depends on driving habits. An engine run hard will use more oil than an engine run easily. And "hard" is subjective.
Even so, I agree with what R said except his obvious English errors. Perhaps English is not his native tongue.
Well, I also have multiple problems with your statement. First of all, Ms. Bethany, the names of brands of cars and the names of models of cars are proper names. Cavalier is a proper name. Please capitalize these names. The sub model name is "Ecotec" not "eco tec."

Next, the oil issue. I do know that kids do not know how to solve problems without the use of texting and yet, texting has never ever repaired any car, ever. Cars are complex machines engineered to involve the driver less and less and less. All is automatic from transmission to climate control to computerized engines and even now, automatic braking in some models. Some models park themselves and others are developing a car that drives itself. As to the mechanical issue you ask. Only a mechanic, a trained, certified and experienced technician, that can evaluate this car can render judgment and propose a repair. You mention "sludge" as if you know what it meant but you have not looked at this problem to locate a solution as "sludge" is not a tolerable status for an engine. This car to develop "sludge" had to be ignored as to oil service. Engines neglected as to oil service wear quickly due to lack of lubrication AND many fail. Please, stop texting as to car issue and in general. Seek repairs and service locally. Not here. Not via texting. Not ever. We mostly offer advise and counsel not how to fix cars. OK? As to why a 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier, a car with a 150 horsepower engine has a cold air intake is concerned, this screams TEENAGER very loudly and we all know that TEENAGERS for the most part have no clue how to take care of cars. Sorry. At worse you many need a new or rebuilt engine. At best, just an engine flush TO BE DONE BY A MECHANIC ONLY. ONLY, ONLY, ONLY. Do not attempt yourself or anyone other than a MECHANIC ONLY. End of story.
- Ford Escort or Chevy Cavalier? - 1 Same year (1998), around same amount of miles (160,000), both maintained, both are even the same color. Which is the better car? Or a 2002 Ford Taurus with 172,000 miles?
- Where can i locate my 2003 ford focus key code if i lost my keys? I lost my keys to my vehicle and now I need my key code for it to get a new key made. Where can I obtain this code. Most dealerships can only go back to 2004 so that is not an option.
- Loud exhaust for 1.0L eco boost ford fiesta? Hi, i have the 2015 Ford Fiesta 1.0L ecoboost & i love it, it's just too quiet! after searching for what feels like years for new exhaust systems i can't find one which i think will be great for me. i want something loud and 'out there' but i don't wanna be spending £700+ on one. i want something with a deep growl which is noticeable with maybe some pops & bangs. If anyone can help please do. UK based.
- Why is my 2003 ford f150 make a.squeaking noise when i turn on the ac? I have a 2003 ford f150 v6 4.2 and when I start it up the serpentine belt squeals, only for about 2 seconds then it stops. The only other time it makes that noise is when I turn on the a/c. I was told it could be the tensioner, but I don't want to just buy the part without getting other opinions.
