Loud exhaust for 1.0L eco boost ford fiesta?
Hi, i have the 2015 Ford Fiesta 1.0L ecoboost & i love it, it's just too quiet!
after searching for what feels like years for new exhaust systems i can't find one which i think will be great for me.
i want something loud and 'out there' but i don't wanna be spending £700+ on one.
i want something with a deep growl which is noticeable with maybe some pops & bangs. If anyone can help please do. UK based.
Search for PECO exhausts. They start at about £150. Stainless steel versions are available too.
I fitted a PECO back box to my Mini Cooper many years ago and the sound exceeded my expectations. Growl it did.
If you modify your car don't forget to tell the insurance company first. Then either accept the extra cost or leave as is… If you mod and have a prang and have not informed them they will refuse your claim. Just give them a sniff and they jump on it
I think INOX makes some decent exhaust systems, have seen a video of a fiesta with one installed. Then again a 1.0 litre engine isn't going to growl like a V8 or a larger engine such as something closer to a 6 litre. You can definitely get some better options and nicer sounding exhausts than a stock pipe. Good luck. Maybe straight pipe, not sure if its legal in the UK tho - we also don't want it sounding like a lawn mower! Not sure if a straight pipe would do that to a 1.0 litre, it may well. Also straight pipe is probably the most raw engine sounds you'll get. Maybe open headers or trumpets as a joke! Hmm, maybe don't do the open headers…
The turbo charge cuts up the exhaust sound into smaller bits. It will always have the pitch of a clarinet.
The engine is a 1.0 and as a result it will still be equivalent to a tweeter when you want a loud it will only be pitched "high".
The thing I try to remember is load exhausts draw attention and that attention is often in the form of police attention. Better a car that sounds slow that goes fast then a car that sounds fast that goes slow.
Anonymous is right; turbos will suppress any growl you could have had. Small displacement engines have tinny exhausts anyway and turbos accentuate it. If you want it louder you will have to accept it will sound tinny.
"i want something with a deep growl which is noticeable with maybe some pops & bangs."
It's an effing 1 liter engine. It's going to sound like a moped more than anything else.
- Which exhaust/exhaust system would work best for my car? I own a 1970 Ford Torino (Brougham) with a 351 Cleveland engine running on stock exhaust. I want to upgrade the exhaust (I'm thinking Flowmaster) but like, does the whole exhaust system need to be done, or like half? I need your help making my baby roar lol. Please give me your best suggestions and approximate cost.
- 0-60 time for a 2006 ford mustang with 7lbs of turbo boost? I'm about to buy a 06' mustang gt automatic with a single turbo that has 7lbs of boost. It has 450 hp. I'm basically wondering what the 0-60 time might be and the quarter mile and maybe top speed. This is a picture describing things it has.
- Ford Fiesta: What could be leaking oil on the opposite side to the exhaust next to the rear left tyre? There's a huge oil leak coming from my 01 fiesta on the opposite side to the exhaust, it's really badly rusted, does anyone know what part of the car this is? Or send me a link to a webpage that will tell me?
- 2017 Ford Escape Eco boost with auto start-stop.thoughts? Do you have a auto start stop feature in your car? If so, do you like it? I push "off" every time.
