Where can i locate my 2003 ford focus key code if i lost my keys?

I lost my keys to my vehicle and now I need my key code for it to get a new key made. Where can I obtain this code. Most dealerships can only go back to 2004 so that is not an option.

I highly recommend the car be taken to a ford dealer - you are likely to have several issues in order to reset the key/reprogram the key to the car, and reset the anti-theft system. Most locksmiths can clone the key, to make the new key that will work, if they have a master to work from. However, smart keys make it difficult to make a new key function in the ignition without an original to clone.

Door remotes can be programmed from the car, but the ignition will not work without the proper key.

The vehicle anti-theft system, or VATS, on a Ford Focus consists of a smart key and transponder as well as an ignition-interrupt device. If the transponder does not recognize the smart key when the ignition tumbler is turned, the ignition-interrupt device will not allow the ignition circuit to close, preventing the Focus from starting. Therefore, even if they can re-key your car, it is likely that you'll need to reset the VAT. FYI: after resetting the VAT, your Radio will also lose its configuration and need to be reset (you'll need the serial number of the radio to get the code, if you don't have your radio code as well.)

For the door keypad, you can find the code on the car - they will be on either a black or white box with 4 large numbers, which is the master code, which should have been provided on a separate card, with your owner manual.

If you don't have the card the steps to locate the factory door code are as follows:
>
Where the code can be found
- available from your authorized dealer via scan code
- marked on the computer module

Computer Module location
1995 thru 2001 is located in the jack storage compartment in the rear of your Explorer. First remove the panel to the jack storage compartment. Towards the front of this area you should see a metal box this is your auto-lock module(way up front next to your rear left passenger seat). On the back side of this box is your 5 digit code factory preset code. It is hard to get to. To see it you will have to loosen, pull, use a flashlight or a mirror but it can be done.

2002 thru 2007 is in the right panel behind the middle row window. It is below the seat belt mechanism. You have to pull out the top plastic panel off, then loosen the lower panel to be able to see the face of the computer module. The code is on a sticker on the face of the module.

Programming a personal entry code
The factory set code can't be reprogrammed but you can create your own 5-digit personal entry code. When pressing the controls on the keypad, press the middle of the controls to ensure a good activation.

Up to three personal entry codes may be programmed to the vehicle. To create your own personal entry code:

1. Enter the factory set code.
2. Within five seconds press the 1? 2 on the keypad.
3. Enter your personal 5-digit code. Each number must be entered within five seconds of each other.
4. Press 1? 2, 3? 4 or 5? 6 to indicate which of the three personal entry code positions you wish to use.
5. The doors will again lock then unlock to confirm that your personal key code has been programmed to the module.

Tips:
Do not set a code that uses five of the same number.
Do not use five numbers in sequential order.
The factory set code will work even if you have set your own personal code.
If you program a code to a position that already contains a set code, the previously-set code will be erased.

It is a transponder key the car will have to be towed to the dealer so they can reprogram the key to the car or call your locksmiths some of them may have the ability to do this

Wow! That first responder sounds like its time for their shock treatments. What's interesting is how they admonish you yet have no idea what a key code is or that they should never begin a sentence with " Well ". A simple phone call to a locksmith will solve your issue. Car lots usually have these locksmiths on specific days so visiting a few local dealers will allow you to meet one and discuss a fair price. Good Luck! Expect to pay at least $ 100 for this type of service and have the proper documentation to prove its your car.

Also don't forget to search this on Google.
