2000 Ford Windstar O/D off light flashing?

2000 Ford Windstar O/D off light flashing?

Added (1). I have a 2000 Ford Windstar SEL. About two days ago, while driving, my "O/D Off" light started flashing, along with a message that says "Check Transmission". The vehicle is running and shifting just fine, my question is, what could the problem be, and will it be ok to drive for a while until I have the money to take it to a mechanic?

A code in the system. Auto zone will scan for the code for nothing that will give you the info needed. Best bet probably the torque converter code meaning that will need to be replaced one of the common problems with that transmission. Find local shop at ATRA.COM when the time comes for repair. If it is the torque converter and your emissions test is due soon you will flunk that test

  • Why did my 2000 Ford Windstar just blow all off the tranny fluid out. But now its not leaking anything? I drove it with a trailer attached all day then I dropped the trailer off and drove home. When a was turning on to my street the car violently shuck but kept going I pulled into my drive way and looked under my car and big puddle of tranny fluid everywhere. So I filled it up this morning and drove it 75 miles and when I got back I was still full on fluid and nothing was leaking. So WHY?
  • 2003 Ford Taurus Theft light flashing? My 2003 Ford Taurus ran fine this morning. My mom just came home and told me my Theft light is flashing every few seconds. The car started just fine but the light didn't stop flashing like I thought it would. I don't have the manual for the car anymore. How do I make it stop?
  • 2003 Ford Explorer O/D off Light flashing? I know that the O/D means over drive and since it's flashing, it's because there's something actually wrong with it. I'm a broke college student and this vehicle is all I have. I can't really afford a new vehicle. I have an appointment on Wednesday. I was just wondering what could the problem be? How much will it cost me? And could it be something as simple as transmission fluid being low?
