Road test Car Requirement?
I'm taking the road test inRandolph, New Jersey at the DMV
I want to take it in a 2013 Ford Fusion, it has a backup camera, also it does not have a handbrake that you pull, but it is a button you pull up with a finger, if you don't know what I'm talking about I will link - ( ) , is the car allowed or not to take a New Jersey road test?
If not I have a 2013, Ford Escape, with a emergency brake that you pull up and also a back up camera, but also the Ford Escape is a suv,
These are the only cars I have!
I know Ohio has similar rules for drivers tests. When I got my license in 2011 I borrowed my moms 2012 Chevy Malibu. It was the only car we had that I could drive and the e-brake was on the floor as a pedal. I called the test center and they said I could use the car. You should call your DMV if you feel more comfortable driving your Fusion
When you take the test, the backup camera will not be permitted to be used. A towel or other device will be used to cover the panel. You must use the mirrors and back or side windows to judge where you are. You also can't use the auto park feature found on some cars.
Therefore, when you practice, you need to do it the old fashioned way, without the modern assistance.
If it is registered and insured it will work.

But the guy at ford has rang me up saying I owe them £100 for the diagnostic test which has told him its the washer pump thats gone. Can the test show its the washer pump thats gone. Or has he looked under bonnet and tryed to scam me out of 100 pound?
