Which winter tires will fit my car?
I currently have p185/65r14 summer tires on my car, do i just buy any tire with these dimensions or do i need a specific one with bolts that will fit my car (2001 Ford Focus)? And if anyone is selling them let me know.
The best idea is to buy "take-offs", ie a second set of rims and tires. You could buy steel rims with pie pan wheel covers, but those cost as much as alloy rims.
Try tirerack, they sell take off packages with the tires mounted and balanced.
You're referring to 2 different things.
The tire size ( 185/65R14 ) is the same regardless of which manufacturer you buy the tires from.
The 14" rims are different. For rims you will need to know the bolt pattern and the rim offset. Not all 14" inch rims are the same and not all will fit.
You have two options for installing winter tires. You can swap the tires on the existing rims or you can buy a wheel and tire set. The tire only option is less expensive initially but you have to spend more money each spring and fall to swap the tires on the same rims. It also can stretch the sidewall of the tires after a period of time ( maybe 2 or 3 years ) which means handling will be affected. A rim and tire combo costs more but saves you time and money down the road because it takes less time to switch over each season.
- Can 225/70R16 tires fit on rims that have 225/70r14 tires on them? I have 225/70r14 tires on my Ford ranger. I just got some 225/70r16 tires of the same brand, Cooper, given to me. Will they fit on the 225/70r14 rims or do I need to get rims to fit the 225/70r16.
- Used sport car and good for the winter for under 15k? I like ford Mustang and Camaro cars but its RWD and not good for the snow, so is there any other options?
- My question is about storing a car outside in the winter for a few months? I live in northern Minnesota but I always go south for the winter for about 3 or 4 months. I've got a 2001 Ford Mustang V6 with a hundred and thirty-five thousand miles. I'm planning on leaving it in a friend's backyard for the winter. Is there any precautions I can take in order for the vehicle to not be dead upon my return. I heard turning it on and letting it run once a week will help?
- Will a set of 235/60-R17 tires fit a vehicle with 225/50-R17 tires currently? If they do I'm assuming there would be a MPH difference on the speedometer. Update: The 60 series set is from a 2014 Ford Focus and are stud-less winter tires. They are to go on a 2012 Ford Fusion.
