Find gear ratio for my 1988 ford f150 transmission?

Depends on your rpm it varies

I heard there were 5 type of 5 speed trainsmission they said to look on the driver side door for the right ratio i just done know wath i look for

The door jamb sticker will have the code for the rear axle ratio. The transmission will have several ratios depending on whether it's a manual or an AOD (2.40 First, 1.46 Second, 1.00 Drive, & .68 Overdrive)

The 1988 could have the M5OD (The most common manual by far)
the T-170FT 4 speed manual (very rare by 1988)
the 4 speed AOD ( most common automatic)
the 3 speed C6 ( it was the only automatic offered with the 351W in 1988. And was rarely seen behind the 300 or 302 at this point).

No, there was only one 5 speed transmission offered in 1988, which was the M5OD-R2. And it has six ratios. Five forward speeds and one reverse.

Keep in mind that a transmission's gear ratios are *not* the same as the axle ratio. If you're asking about that, it's probably going to be either 2.73, 3.08, 3.55, or 4.10. If you have a 300 with the manual it's probably going to be a 3.08.

Just look into the details of this truck and you'll find out
