I recently got my 2003 ford escape oil changed. Notice a leak and it was transmission fluid?
I just recently goty 2002 ford escape oil changed and they said I had a leak which wasn't there before. I noticed I was losing alot of fluid. I thought it was oil but it was transmission fluid. It's seems to be over filled. Well now my car is struggling to change gears and it wasn't doing that before the oils change
Take it back and explain your problem
Find local shop at ATRA.COM for them to look at it and give you a estimate to repair
If there was nothing done to the transmission it seems odd that the ATF level is now overfilled. What did you do? Go to Walmart or Jiffy Lube and the high school drop outs put motor oil in the tranny dipstick tube?! Better find a real mechanic before you're walking.
- What type of engine oil and transmission fluid should i use for a 72 ford maverick? I bought a 4 door, straight 6 cylinder 72 maverick for $500, (it wasn't runnin is why it was so cheap), just got it runnin, (i replace the fuel filter & fuel pump), it needs an oil change and it need transmission fluid and i wanna know what type of oil and transmission fluid to buy for it
- Is it ok to drive a car with a transmission fluid leak for a week before getting fixed? I have a 2007 ford ranger with only 38k miles on it, recenntly I have been having minor delays when shifting into drive from reverse before it catches and I actually move forward. So i checked my transmission fluid which seems to be pretty low a good amount below the cross hatched area. So I added more fluid and then saw some leak onto the garage floor within 30mins. I have not seen any leak before, could i still drive it before i get it fixed next week without causing more damage?
- Have 98 Ford Ranger, 4.0, 171,000 miles, auto trans with limited slip. I've owned truck since new and have changed trans fluid every 30-35 000 miles and have never towed anything. The majority of the 171,000 miles are interstate driving. The truck shifts fine with no jerking or slippage. What I do get is thump(s) in rear end when I come to a stop, as gears are downshifting. Do I need a new transmission? Any suggestions? I suppose it's a "clunk" I hear and feel when I come to a stop, not a thump.
- Have a 2009 Ford Mustang, kept blowing fuse #47, recently had clutch changed out prior to this? Found out a wire harness to 02 sensor was pinched between transmission and engine (easy to overlook harness should run above transmission). After removing harness and fixing. Had to run a push button for starter though. Anyone have this issue and get it solved (starter wise)?
