Yes or no to complete platform updates for these SUVs?
Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F)'s Lincoln Navigator dates back to 2003. General Motors (NYSE: GM)' Cadillac Escalade supposedly dates back to 2001 (model year 2002). And Daimler AG (ETR: DAI)'s Mercedes-Benz G-Class dates back to 1979 (!), or 2001 (model year 2002) for the North American-specification models. Maybe this isn't the case for trucks but for crossovers and cars, right?
Added (1). Off-topic, but I DO know why Mercedes has two (!) flagship SUVs… Because GL-Class rivals Q7, GX 460, the upcoming X7, and the likes. G-Class (or G-Wagen, for you Germans) rivals QX80, Navigator, Escalade, LX 570, and the BOF SUV likes.
Wherever you got your dates from is wrong.
The Navigator will likely updated in 2016 or 2017 at the latest since a new F-150 is coming out for the 2015 model year. The Navigator is based on the F-150. The Navigator has used the same platform since 2007.
The Escalade's platform was new in 2007. And a model on a new platform is due out for the 2015 model year
The G-Wagen has been using the same platform since 1990, but had updates in 2007, 2008, and 2012.

- I think i found the problem, only time will tell, yes? 1982 ford mercury brougham? My car would start ok when cold, but when hot, it would not start. After a cooling period, it would start. I could cross the starter soliniod and it would crank, but not start. Research suggests that the coil is the problem, with all my symptoms such as… Gutless.using lots of fuel, and not starting when hot, but starting cold. Does this make sense? Also it would jerk when going up a hill
- Car vibrates when I come to a complete stop? I drive a 2001 Ford Focus and my parents bought the car for me in March of this year and it ran smooth and everything until about a month ago, maybe two months. Now whenever I come to a complete stop, it vibrates. It doesn't do it at all when I'm driving, only when the car is completely stopped. Does anybody know what could be wrong with it? I really don't have money to take it to a mechanic right now and don't want to have my parents pay for me to take it to a mechanic.
- Grinding noise when coming to a complete stop? I have a 1999 ford f150 XLT. My brakes were pretty bad and warped, and they started making a grinding noise when i come to a complete stop. Not when i'm braking from 10mph or more. So i replaced all 4 rotors and pads. But the problem still continues! Could it be the front calipers? The brake pedal does push back when the grinding noise happens.
