Will 1mm wheel offset make a difference in handling?
I'm looking for new aftermarket wheels for a 2009 Lincoln MKZ. The factory rims are 17x7.5 with an offset of 44mm (from what I can tell anyhow, Ford seems to keep this information from the dealers as they can't tell me and it isn't in the manual). However the rims I want without changing the width of the wheel have an ofset of 45mm. Will that 1mm extra make a huge difference?
Like you'd know the difference.
You would need to be swedish and a professional rally driver to maybe notice
No real difference. Tyre fitting and wear has more than 1mm variation
Not noticeable.
Hmm
- Will this much of a difference make in tire size? I had a 2010 Ford focus that had 195/60/15 snow tires last winter. About 4 months ago, I totaled my car, and bought a 2018 Ford Focus. It has 195/65/15 tires. I live in West Virginia, and the weather is getting nasty again. The snow tires from my 2010 Focus are still in excellent shape. Can I put them on my 2018 Focus? Sorry to get so long winded.
- Insert the key and doesn't turn. Steering wheel locked. Shifter stuck in park. Can start by mechanical part under wheel. What could it be? 1999 ford f150 won't come out of park or start even when I start it using the mechanical part under the steering wheel
- Does it make a difference if you check the oil level on a uphill driveway? 2003 Ford F150 xlt 5.4 v8 125 000 miles Some one checked it on a uphill driveway 5 minutes after driving for 30 minutes and said it was 3 quarts low… Common sense tells me it's going to give a bad reading but for the sake of this person to understand why from the mechanical community please explain why… Thanks for your info…
