Why is the 2 L Ford faster than the 2 L Jaguar? - 1

Added (1). I read that the Jaguar engine is the same as the Ford engine.

Total vehicle curb weight.

There are many factors that go into top speed and acceleration besides the power output of the engine. If they are identical engines, the Ford could be lighter, like G said, and/or the transmission could be tuned for a faster acceleration or top speed.

Even though the engines are the same, they can be set up and tuned differently. The cars can have different weights, different transmissions, different rear-end rations, different engine control systems, etc. Etc., etc.
