Why does 2017 ford focus 1.0L has less mpg than 2017 honda civic?
It has tiny engine as geo metro like it supposed to be 50 mpg? The manual focus has 30 city 40 hwy mpg which is average for an 4 cylinder subcompact, while the automatic 1.5L civic makes 2 gained mpg difference.
Depends on everything. Weight, design, tires, and other mechanical stuff.
Try both in a real world. It is very interesting.
Rent one of each for a week and see how you like both.
Hey Brainiac… Have you looked at the weight of each vehicle yet? It's on the drivers door sticker under the latch
"It has tiny engine as geo metro like it supposed to be 50 mpg? "
It also weighs about 1000 pounds more than a Metro
"The manual focus has 30 city 40 hwy mpg which is average for an 4 cylinder subcompact"
The 1.0L Ecoboost is also turbocharged, which means that when you are on the boost, which is often, fuel economy goes down.
"while the automatic 1.5L civic makes 2 gained mpg difference."
The CVT (there's no true automatic available) on the Civic is an advantage when ti comes to fuel economy. Also the 1.5L Turbo is probably better suited to the size of the car. If you have a small engine that has to work hard to move a comparatively larger car, you're not going to get great fuel economy. That's the reason with the 1.0L Ecoboost Focus get's the same mileage as a 2.0L N/A Focus.
- What's a good year to buy a used 4cyl Ford Ranger for around or less than $2000? I'm in the market for a used ford ranger. I'm looking for the extended cab with a 4cyc engine. I've got less than $2000 to spend, my question is what's a good year to look for with that engine, and maybe some bad years to avoid? Btw, I live in los angeles, CA. So I'm not worried about rust, or it being to old, if it was maintained well is the main thing. I know at that price range I can't expect much.
- Ford mustang vs honda civic? Assuming that I maintain both cars equally, which one do you guys think will last the longest? I want a long lasting car.
- 2002 Honda Civic or 2002 Ford Mustang as first car? I'm debating on getting a Civic with nearly 30 mpg or a Mustang with nearly 20 mpg, and I also live in Indiana where we get around a foot of snow every year.
- 01 Honda civic lx or 07 ford focus? I'm buying my first car and I've heard great things about honda civics and ford focuses. However, I've read that the 01 honda civic was a problematic year. The owner says they changed the timing belt at 103k (it now has 132k) the ford focus has 150k miles, a new alternator and new tires and the owner says they've maintained it regularly. I'm not sure which I should buy? Should I buy a different year focus or civic, and with how many miles? Sorry for all the questions!
