Why hasn't Ford, GMC, Chevy etc. Make their van/box truck models with standard transmission?
Why do they stick these garbage automatic transmissions in their trucks/vans? I know this is farfetched but is it even possible to find a 5/6 speed manual transmission on a ford Econoline? GMC 2500/3500 etc. I guess the biggest reason they do this, is so they can make money once these things go toast. Which they constantly do. Why is their no petition in the USA that would tell these dealers to make more standard transmission cars like in Europe? In Europe even the Sprinter vans are manual, why do we not have this option?!
I would ask a dealer. I have seen a lot of these trucks with 200k+ and the tranny was perfect. Alot of the manual trannys were juck too. I think people prefer automatics and seldom buy manual trannies. These are driven in alot of stop and go traffic. I know the 700r4 tranny is a top notch tranny with a proven track record

Manual transmissions are not selling like they use to since the automatic transmissions are getting better and into the 6-10 speed automatics ( ford will be coming out with a 10 speed auto in next couple of years) UPS used to be big into the standards now most of the newer model vans I see are automatics. Friend of mine drives 18 wheelers his company is going to the automatics in their trucks
- Will a 2000 Ford Windstar lx fuse box diagram be the same as a 2003 Ford Windstar fuse box? I found a link about a 2003 but I need to know if it'll be the same for a 2000. If it ain't can anyone help me out with a link showing information like this but about a 2000 model? Thanks. http://www.fixya.com/cars/t11808484-2003_ford_windstar_fuse_box_diagram
- Why don't car companies remake some of their classic car models if people like them so much? Of course safety is in mind because everyone would freak out if they didn't have a seat belt and air bags in every inch of the car, but why can't some of the companies just remake their best selling car models? Dodge could remake their 1948 Sedan and Ford could remake their 1949 Custom. I could list more but I can't think of any more classics.
- Why did my Ford E350 box truck start leaking transmission fluid? So I left my truck and didn't drive it for about a week or two and 2 days ago I noticed a huge leak that came from the transmission. I'm really curious as to why it happened since I didn't drive it for these two weeks and it happened just recently. What is going on? Bad seals? Hot weather made it start seeping through? I checked the fluid levels and they look fine to me. Advice?
- Which of the three truck company's last the longest? Ford, Chevy, or GMC? I'm 18 and my dad is getting me my first vehicle and wants me to drive a truck. Here in Texas drivers are a little crazy, lol. He's looking into trucks that are between the 10k-20k range. Which of the three last longest?
