Water top in RADIATOR - cars?

Hi
is it still required to top up water in the radiator of my CAR - 2004 FORD CARD -
or not required.
is it only in the olden cars that refill is required or how does the new one work?

You need to observe the plastic expansion tank that is connected to the radiator. This will have a MAX and MIN mark on it. You should top up to the MAX line with 50:50 clean water and antifreeze mix when the engine is cold.

All vehicles require topping off the coolant jug and or radiator if low. Most of the newer vehicles is not really necessary anymore if in good shape. Should always use 50/50 mixture of the correct coolant though & never just add plain water

But most now a days have a sight viewing area to see if needed or not, most can go quite a long time without ever needing a drop

When in doubt, READ the owner's manual! No owner's manual? You can probably buy one from places like Amazon.com

  • Top up of water - CAR - cooling system - anti freeze? I have a low coolant level in my 2004 ford card. i was told i need a top up of antifreeze or just a pure water should do good for the time being. As they say, antifreez is nothing but a mix of water. what is the difference between topping up with pure water and a actual antifree here.
