What would be a compatible transmission for a '94 Ford Taurus?
So far I haven't been able to locate a transmission of the same year and make here in my small town.
** I'm a college student and can't afford much, other than to get my car fixed.
Your car probably has the AX4S transmission. The 1995-2000 Windstar used it, The 1993-2003 Taurus and Sable used it, and the mid 90's Lincoln Continental used it.
The AX4N can probably be used as well.

- Is the transmission from a '92 Ford Tempo compatible with a '94 Ford Taurus? My transmission went out on my 1994 Ford Taurus and I can get a 1992 Ford Tempo transmission for a much cheaper price. I would please like to know if they are compatible. Thanks so much in advance! I'm a college student and I honestly can't afford much else.
