Problem with 2000 Ford Taurus A/C and Cooling Systems?
This summer my car has started to dump all of the water when I shut it off. The water seems to be leaking at the very front left side of the car. Next to the radiator. The temp is a little elevated but not by much it usually sits below half and now it sits at exactly half of the temp gauge. I have never had trouble with the A/C until this summer either. I charged the a/c and it still blows air slightly cooler than the temp outside. The fans turn on and off more than usual but they do work and it seems the compressor is working. You can hear it engage and disengage when you plug and unplug the clutch relay. I don't know if one has to do with the other but I know the A/C is dependent on a properly running cooling system. Also when I bought the car I noticed a ton of mud looking stuff in the reservoir. I will admit it probably wasn't the best idea I ever had to try to clean it out because now I think it was stop leak. Also the last two winter's I have had to clean out the heater core because it was full of rust and what appears to be stop leak and the heat wasn't working. After cleaning the heater core the heat started working again. I know when you buy a used car you will probably run into problems if it was just me I would only worry about the water leak but I live in TN and it gets extremely hot and now I have a 16 month old that needs A/C so any help would be appreciated.
With all that muck in there, I'd be replacing the entire cooling system and heater core. It seems it's never had any inhibitor in the water.
- Top up of water - CAR - cooling system - anti freeze? I have a low coolant level in my 2004 ford card. i was told i need a top up of antifreeze or just a pure water should do good for the time being. As they say, antifreez is nothing but a mix of water. what is the difference between topping up with pure water and a actual antifree here.
- Car acceleration problem and idle problem. The car is a 2003 Ford Taurus? . When the car is running and in parked its making a loud consisted rev noise. However the rpm needle thingy is not moving. when i'm in drive the car acclerates on its own with the speed ever increasing. i did some googling and learned that it can be the TPS sensor or the idle air intake valve, among a million other possiblities.
- 2000 Ford Taurus SE Wagon Heater Problem? The heater doesn't work. We flushed the heater core hoses with coolant and they are not clogged, what is the reason for the heater not working? The heater works, just very very light.
- JL audio vs MMATS vs BANG & OLUFSEN for car audio systems? Custom rebuilding my 1965 Ford Mustang, but looking at which sound system is the best (money is not a issue so suggestions welcome)!
