Is my transmission blow?
I have a Ford Taurus with 139000 miles on it. I was driving when my transmission started slipping it hasn't done this before. Then I stopped and whenever I press the gas it wouldn't gothen it slipped into a gear and I pulled over on the side of the road. It was leaking transmission fluid however the fluid is red and not Brown. Before this the car was driving fairly well. Is this just a leak with something stuck in the transmission or is the transmission completely blown.
No
just get it to a transmission repair shop and have the oil leak fixed and then fill the transmission
This is a good time to have it checked by an ATRA transmission professional. You don't mention the year but the earlier AXOD transmissions used in the Taurus had trouble with the forward clutch piston cracking (mostly fixed in 1995 when the piston was changed from aluminum to steel.) Slipping has been a frequent complaint with all years. Starting in 1994 and later Tauruses the transmission was switched to the AX4N anyway, which was more reliable. In any case you need to have it seen by an expert.
Add lucas stop slip and drive…
You're going to have to take it to a mechanic, or a transmission place. The transmission might be OK, it might not. That is, it could be as simple as repairing the leak and refilling it, or the transmission itself might be damaged. It helps that you pulled over right away, instead of driving and making it worse. Make sure you take it to someone honest, since you definitely don't want to pay for a transmission rebuild if you don't have to. $$$$$$$$$$$
Once you lose enough ATF that the transmission slips you've fried all the clutch packs in the tranny and need a rebuilt transmission.
As time goes on, the consumer seems to know less and less about their car. Sadly.
If your automatic transmission develops a fluid leak, then there comes a time when there isn't enough automatic transmission fluid (ATF) for the transmission to function normally. The symptom is slipping.
At that time you park the car and check the fluid level and find that it's very low. So you can add some and drive to the repair center of your choice to get the defective seal replaced. Or better if you just have the car towed there.
The modern motorist uses DENIAL (a psychological self-defense mechanism) to pretend nothing is wrong, and keeps driving until the transmission is burned up and unusable.
Sorry.
The driver needs to trade some inconvenience for the big financial savings of not needing to repair large and avoidable damage.
The same with the oil light ON.
The same with coolant overheat.
Stop driving!
Save the car!

Continuing to try is not wise. Fix the leak and fill it up.
- Why did my 2000 Ford Windstar just blow all off the tranny fluid out. But now its not leaking anything? I drove it with a trailer attached all day then I dropped the trailer off and drove home. When a was turning on to my street the car violently shuck but kept going I pulled into my drive way and looked under my car and big puddle of tranny fluid everywhere. So I filled it up this morning and drove it 75 miles and when I got back I was still full on fluid and nothing was leaking. So WHY?
- What would cause a cent to not blow on a 2001 Ford Taurus? I have a 2001 Taurus. Recently the heat/ac will blow everywhere but through the vents. Defroster and floor work. But the vent will not work. I checked the vacuum lines and everything looks good. Any idea?
- What are reasons for a blow head gasket? I'm thinking of buying a 2001 Ford Taurus with 89K on it. The craigslist ad says it needs a head gasket
