Is it weird that I actually wanted this car?

I'm an 18 year old male and I just got myself a new car. I was looking to get something more fuel efficient than my old truck. Most people my age want a Mustang, Camaro, Jeep, or lifted diesel truck. Most people drive Corollas, Civics, Saturns, Malibus, and Explorers. I was just looking for something I liked for a good deal. I've always liked station wagons and I've always wanted one. I could never find one I really liked. I was looking on Craigslist last week and found this car. $1000 and only 83,000 miles. A 1992 Ford Taurus Wagon. I now have this car and I love it. Most people would think it's the old family car because it was replaced with a new one. Is it weird that I actually wanted this car?

It's good. Means you're not an insecure **** that needs to impress others with a car.

Everyone has different tastes. Nothing wrong with that at all.

It's a great car, the head gaskets and transmission should take a dump soon. Sure is a long question just to be a troll.

Unusually sensible maybe? But I mean that in a good way.

While other people are struggling to make car payments, or pay for repairs on an old and worn out car, just so they can try and maintain some sort of imaginary "image", you can just cruise around in your reliable old wagon and smile.

After a while you realise that car stereotypes are just that. Buy the car that suits your needs, wants and budget and be happy.

It's not weird that you want something sensible and cheap to run. At the end of the day, teenagers have limited money for repairs and fuel and have high insurance costs. As for the Taurus, you've just picked up a lemon. They are probably one of the worst cars Ford ever built. Be prepared to ditch the car once it starts developing automatic transmission probpems.
