I have a 2000 Ford Taurus overheated now isn't getting gas to engine?

I have a 00 Taurus it overheated on the highway and turned off it started again and I made it to another place and turned it off and back on and then came back the next day and drove it home. Started it again the next morning car stopped starting. Before it broke down I was convinced that the fuel filter was bad it was light puttering after taking my foot off break and it did it in reverse really bad. Now there's no gas going to the engine. Could the fuel filter cause my engine to overheat?

I also took the fuel filter off and tested it, I'm not able to blow through it. Gas still able to run through the pipes still.

Over heating is not caused by the fuel filter. Some vehicles have safety measures built in that shut off the fuel injectors when the motor over heats to keep people that don't watch their gauges from seizing their motors up.
You either have no coolant in the radiator, a bad thermostat, or the head gasket is bad.
